Who is Eligible for this Program?

No Guns Just Gloves is a program for at risk youth. This includes any young person who is susceptible to the streets.

  1. Youth are eligible if the Family income is at or below poverty level and families on state or federal assistance.

    For families with more than 8 persons, add $3,740 for each additional person.
  2. Youth are eligible By referral from school: teacher, principle, disciplinarian, counselor, truant officer, etc.
  3. Youth are eligible by referrals from: Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brother Big Sister, community organizations.
  4. Youth are eligible by referral from: local, county, or state agencies.
  5. Youth are eligible by referral from: Pastors, ministers, youth leaders, religious leaders, etc.
  6. Youth are eligible by referral from: Family, friends and neighbors.
  7. Youth are eligible by essay. A young person may request to be in the program, but must show in essay form why they feel that they need to be in a program like this.
  8. All youth must be enrolled in school and maintain passing grades.
  9. Copy of most current report card must be provided. (Homework can be brought to the gym to be completed before training starts.)
  10. Youth will be accepted as long as there are sponsors available. NGJG's works diligently to find private sponsors and also sponsors some youth as well.
  11. All referrals can start with a phone call but an application and written referral, letter or essay, medical clearance from a doctor and parent/guardian permission and liability waiver must be submitted. No Guns, Just Gloves does not want to turn away any young person in need. This is a serious program and not just a place to hang out. Please be aware that as a youth joining this program you will be required to work hard and be accountable to your coaches.
