We here at ICAT realize that you have many choices when it comes to working out. However, we offer unique programs in boxing, fitness and martial arts that you will not find anywhere in New Jersey. What makes us so unique? We use an eclectic approach and multicultural curriculum. We provide tailored training programs to satisfy every student individually, meeting their needs and desired goals in a positive, encouraging environment. Our mission is to develop each student not just physically but mentally and spiritually. As result of a well rounded approach to each art and fitness our students have more energy, less stress, better focus, improved strength, more self-confidence, increase in self esteem and a stronger sense of inner-self. In addition, our boxing and martial arts programs develop awareness skills for self-defense and leadership skills while our fitness programs develop awareness skills for healthy living and longevity of life and are all fun to learn.
Because I.C.A.T. offers such a wide array of classes our instructors are absolutely the best. They have studied for many years to qualify for the I.C.A.T. Academy family. Each highly experienced in their area. As you browse our site you will learn more about our academy and hopefully become part of the I.C.A.T. Family. I.C.A.T. Academy was founded and established in 1989 by Sifu Victor Lashley. After years of training and teaching, Sifu Lashley decided to open a school in order to further his own development and create a teaching environment for his students. Inspired by his own teachers and trainers: Guru Dan Inosanto, Sifu Larry Hartsell, Guru Richard Bustillo, Sifu Tim Tackett and several others, Sifu Vic had a vision of a school that would best perpetuate the arts that influenced him the most and that were instrumental in saving his life on many occasions in his former law enforcement career as q NJ Corrections Officer. I.C.A.T. Academy was one of the first total body competitive athletic training gym in our area before the U.F.C was launched.
